Product InformationCloSYSII Toothpaste

PURCHASE CLOSYSII TOOTHPASTE CloSYSII® Toothpaste (formerly RetarDENT® Toothpaste) contains the CloSYSII® ingredient (unique combination of chlorine dioxide and phosphate) to neutralize odor-causing compounds on contact, plus a special combination of silica polishers to help whiten teeth with regular brushing. CloSYSII Toothpaste is one of the lowest in abrasivity of any toothpaste on the market, so it's safe for daily use.

Another unique feature is that CloSYSII Toothpaste is one of only 6 toothpastes that does not contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which has been linked to canker sores.

CloSYSII Toothpaste: A cleaner, not a cover-up

  • Patented chlorine dioxide system
  • Non-foaming. Traditional toothpastes contain sodium lauryl sulfate, which is the foaming agent. This foaming agent fills the mouth full of suds sending a premature signal to the user that their mouth is clean hence the toothbrush is hung up long before effective plaque control has been accomplished. You can feel where the toothbrush bristles are relative to the gingival margin with the use of CloSYSII Toothpaste.
  • Low Abrasivity. Gentle to delicate veneers, expensive reconstruction and kind to exposed root structures; yet, has a whitening effect due to the combination of the oxygenating capabilities of chlorine dioxide and hydrated silicas.
  • Sodium lauryl sulfate has been associated with causing apthous ulcers (canker sores)
  • Toothpastes containing sodium lauryl sulfate should not be used within 2 hours of using chlorhexidene as these two compounds are incompatible when used together.
  • Many dentists and hygienists use CloSYSII Toothpaste as a professional polishing agent due its low abrasivity as the ADHA no longer recommends full mouth polishing with high abrasive polishers.
  • Tooth whitener when used on a regular basis reducing stains caused by food, wine, tobacco, coffee, tea and sodas.

Relative Toothpaste Abrasivity:

  • The American Dental Association sets a standard of 100 as being acceptable. Those pastes over 100 are considered more abrasive and those less than 100 are considered more gentle and safer to use on exposed CEJs, cementum and dentin.
  • CloSYSII Toothpaste is one of the lowest at 53. Yet, the hydrated silica and chlorine dioxide in the proprietary CloSYSII Toothpaste formula produce a whitening effect when used on a regular basis.
  • All information is provided by the American Dental Association and all testing of these toothpastes were performed using the same protocols at Indiana University.
