Volatile Sulphur Compounds (VSCs) are continuously produced as part of the natural breakdown of bacteria, human cells and foods that we eat. They are found throughout the mouth and especially on the back of the tongue. VSCs are the primary cause of bad breath and inflammation. It is important to eliminate VSCs because they allow damaging bacteria to penetrate the protective barrier of the gums.
