Directions for General Use of the CloSYS products:
- Use a soft bristle tooth brush, brush with a pea size amount of toothpaste, for two minutes. Exchange your toothbrush every 3 months to reduce bacterial load from re-entering your mouth
- Immediately follow brushing with daily flossing and tongue scraping
- Spit out extra toothpaste, follow with CloSYS oral rinse.
- Rinse with CloSYS oral rinse. Swish and gargle thoroughly for at least 30 seconds with 15 ml (1/2 ounce or 2 full caps)
- Use the CloSYS System every morning and every night before going to bed, or as directed by your dental professional
- Optional daily oral irrigation with a 10:1 dilution of the CloSYS oral rinse, ten parts water adding one part CloSYS
Note: using more than a pea size amount of toothpaste, does not increase the foaming capacity of the product. CloSYS is SLS free, SLS or sodium lauryl sulfate is a foaming agent that can irritate the mouth.
CloSYS Patented chlorine dioxide system is effective against cavity causing bacteria; strep mutans, strep sanguis and lactobacillus
found in biofilm.
Suggested treatment:
- Brush twice a day, am and pm, with a pea size amount or less of CloSYS dentifrice
- Floss after brushing at least once daily
- Follow with a swish for 30 seconds, twice a day, am and pm, with 1/2 ounce of CloSYS oral rinse
- Maintain an optimal pH with your mouth throughout the day with CloSYS Breath Spray; Remember to mix the flavor agent by gently shaking the oral spray dispenser; one spray is enough to balance the mouth

Patients in need of strengthening the enamel, desensitizing the root surface matrix and for those patients with white spot lesions, remineralizing therapy is professionally recommended. Home care efforts can be enhanced by preparing the mouth first with the use of CloSYS oral rinse. By pre-rinsing with CloSYS, the mouth pH is neutralized, creating an optimal pH environment for fluoride uptake to occur.
- PreRinse with a 1/2 ounce swish for 30 seconds of CloSYS oral rinse
- Apply Remineralizing agent of choice, by brush-on technique as recommended

In-office and At-home aerosol reduction
The use of CloSYS oral antiseptic rinse prior to treatment in the dental operatory aids in reduction of the microbe content found in aerosol spray created by the use of such tools as air polishers, ultrasonic scalers and high-speed dental hand pieces. By reducing the microbial population in the patient's mouth, pre-rinsing with stabilized chlorine dioxide helps promote a successful procedure, protects dental office personnel and the patient.
- Office PRE Rinse, 1/2 ounce, 30 second swish prior to dental office procedures
- Office ultrasonic scaling, use a 10:1 dilution, 10 parts water to one part CloSYS
- At-home, recommend a 10:1 dilution of water and CloSYS oral rinse at home with the use of oral irrigation appliances
Reduction of microbial growth to help eliminate new plaque formation without compromising healing is essential for implant
maintenance patients. The bond that forms at the neck of the tooth between the tooth itself and the surrounding gum tissue called the
junctional epithelium. Plaque formation here will compromise the life of the dental implant. Current research suggests mouth rinses that
do not contain alcohol are the best choice, as alcohol has the potential to interfere fibroblasts and the healing of the gingival tissues.
Suggested treatment:
- Use CloSYS Complete Oral Health System, twice a day
- Soaking floss in the CloSYS oral rinse, prior to use, may aid in distributing stabilized chlorine dioxide near the junctional epithelium
Orthodontics, Dentures, Paritials Patients
Adding any appliance therapy, braces, provisional, removable prosthetics such as flippers, retainers, partials or dentures to the oral
cavity allows for a thermodynamic change increasing the temperature of the mouth. Thermal changes in the mouth create an optimal environment
for incubation of candida albicans or thrush type lesions. Fungi and mold are one of the most difficult oral anomalies to treat.
Suggested treatment:
- Recommend a 10:1 dilution of 10 parts water and one part CloSYS oral rinse at home with the use of oral irrigation appliances
- First thing daily, applying a very thin film of CloSYS toothpaste to the surface on the provisional contacting the oral environment
- Applying this thin film is not intended to secure the prosthetic or provisional. It is meant to condition the soft tissues affected by the oral candida lesion
- Wear the provisional or prosthetics as recommended
- After wearing the appliance or prosthetics all day, rinse. Reapply thin film of CloSYS toothpaste if wearing prosthetic, appliance at night.
- Using the CloSYS toothpaste in this way, may reduce the reoccurrence of candida.
In Office and Take Home Whitening Systems
In Office or patient take home whitening systems may be enhanced by preparing the mouth first prior to processing to ensure best
outcomes. Both CloSYS toothpaste and oral rinse are low in abrasivity, pH balanced and dye free.
Suggested treatment:
- Prepare the mouth for whitening systems by pre rinsing with 1/2 0unce for 30 seconds of CloSYS Oral rinse
- Pre Rinsing prior to whitening, optimizes the mouth pH providing creating a better result
- Maintaining stain free teeth with daily use of CloSYS toothpaste and Oral Rinse. Patented stabilized chlorine dioxide helps to organically remove teeth stains from foods, beverage and discoloration caused by smoking
pH Balance
Maintaining an optimal 6.8 pH balance of the mouth is optimal for reduction in biofilm. Saliva is rich in proteins and is
readily oxidized. This environment facilitates oxygen depletion creating an opportunity for VSC production. Slight acidity in the
mouth inhibits VSC production, neutral pH or alkalinity favor malodor and disease.
Decreased salivary flow can lead to xerostomia or dry mouth condition associated with bad breath, ulcerations and biofilm formation.
Salivary flow can be affected by diet, medications, supplements, even mouth breathing while sleeping. Introducing CloSYS into the mouth
activates the solution for its antiseptic effects encouraging optimal pH.
